I travel to Singapore from time to time as a Mariner and love this country. Yes I do agree that the trains, buses are a great way to get around town. My question now is since I still have an EZ Link card how long is the card valid? I did use it last in the month of Jan/Feb. Will I have to purchase another card upon my return to Singapore to use the train/bus service.

Durian does not have cholesterol. I have no idea why this myth is perpetuated, but cholesterol is produced by animals, not plants. It is high in sugar content, but so is most fruit.

Durian is the only fruit in Singapore that gets "hawked" or "touted". You'll even find durian sellers in the middle of NTUC supermarkets. Prepare to try your skills at haggling the prices down!

The term Hawker Centre is an oxymoron.

A Hawker moves around :-)

If you realise, they have all been renamed "Food Centres" in almost all the 'so called haweker centres" :-)

Streetdirectory's map has been offline for months.

Try http://rednano.sg
Key in the address then select "map". This has become my favourite after Streetdirectory's so called 'demise'.

Actually, for myself and a few people I know, we will first check when the next bus is coming. If it's too long a wait, we will walk :-)

Do you realise that many people get confused with left and right, and also the same with east and west.

So using road signs with names like "AYE (Changi Airport)" or "AYE (Tuas)", it takes out some complications. Names of places sounds the same in any language. If you meet at Chinese, Indian or English speaking taxi driver, he understands.

If you use west, you got to tell a chinese driver - "xi", a malay driver - "barat". LOL....
