Congratulations to Jovian Lin, who has been awarded the NUS Extra Chapter Challenge extension scholarship funding, to commercialize his thesis research work on Mobile App Recommendation using Twitter.

Xiangnan He will be going to Korea to present his work on using a co-regularization framework non-negative matrix factorization for improving recommendation system's recommendations via  clustering, in April!  More soon!

Congratulations to Jun Ping, who will be listed as a recipient of the School's prestigious Research Achievement Award for his achievements this year.  Jun Ping published two Rank 1 (EMNLP) papers and two Rank 2 papers (COLING), and independently sourced for collaborators for a few of his projects.  Congratulations, Jun Ping!

Min gave an invited talk at the 2013 Information Access Symposium to some 30+ researchers at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Tokyo, Japan on 6 December 2013, entitled "The NExT Search Center: User Generated Content を解析".  Min gave an overview of the NExT search center and also touched upon research by Tao and Jovian in WING.  Check it out!
