2010 July Update

Min and his family have finished a great sabbatical with the folks at UCI in June and have now returned to Singapore. While Min was busy getting ready to return home, the group suffered a damaging hardware crash to our infrastructure. At this time we are still in the midst of recovering from the hardware crash and data loss. While we welcome you visit our website for more details, we apologize for the re-construction dust on our website.

WING System Crash

We had a very large hardware crash of WING’s main servers, involve lots of disk crashes in our RAID and subsequent data loss and chaos. Fortunately, Jun Ping and Aobo of our team’s admin staff were able to piece together most of our systems.  The hardware crash led to about one month’s work lost for many group members; but fortunately, after most conference submission deadlines.  If you have data stored on our servers, they were probably lost.  Do contact us at support at_sign wing dot comp dot nus dot edu dot sg if you need your accounts reinstated.

2nd Quarter Publications

We have just finished presenting a set of work at JCDL/ICADL and have some upcoming presentations at SemEval, COLING and Web Intelligence. While our work at COLING is not yet finalized, we can share with you our preprints of SemEval and WI.  Our SemEval work continues our work on keyphrase extraction, both in our task organization and group effort in the competition.  We also have an invited journal paper with the International Journal of Digital Library Systems (IJDLS), likely coming out next year.
