Chao Ming Huang, Yisong Miao, and Yajing Yang from WING shared their research at the inaugural AI-X: Industry Day hosted by NUS Computing, organised in collaboration with IMDA’s Technical Sharing Session. Our members are delighted to have the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience from CS / IS departments, other faculties across NUS, as well as industry leaders. Chao Ming (right in the photo) presented his research on “Understanding Code-Mixed Queries in Multilingual Dense Retrieval”, a FYP project jointly mentored by Prof. Min-Yen Kan and PhD student Tongyao Zhu. Yisong (middle in the photo) presented his EMNLP 2025 paper “Discursive Circuits: How Do Language Models Understand Discourse Relations?”, a joint work with Prof. Min-Yen Kan. Read more about it here. Yajing (left in the photo) presented her EMNLP paper “KAHAN: Knowledge-Augmented Hierarchical Analysis and Narration for Financial Data Narration”, in collaboration with Prof. Min-Yen Kan and Dr. Tony Deng (Rio Tinto).
