Our multi-disciplinary collaboration with our Center for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL) and our Information Systems department has resulted in two publications in EDM and ICIS on instructor intervention. Please have a look!

Dr Wang Aobo, successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Addressing Informality in Processing Chinese Microtext" with flying colors on 20 August 2015. Aobo continues his work with BNP Paribas currently.

Our group gave two invited talks at the University of Michigan's MOOC research Summit in May, and another keynote at the Greater China MOOC Symposium (GMCS 2015) -- on our group and the NUS HCI groups' work on MOOCs. WING has a good crop of publication work from both its undergraduate and postgraduate students this term. We have accepted work at CIKM on information retrieval and knowledge management, at ASONAM for social network analysis and the NLP-TEA ACL workshop on second language learning. Hope to catch you on the summer/fall conference circuit!
 
Prof Diane Litman's sabbatical visit to WING and NLP group PDF Print E-mail

Professor Diane Litman is visiting WING and the NLP groups at SoC over the months of August to December 2015, to collaborate, research and teach on discourse. We look forward to the collaborative works and her input on a number of projects that touch on NLP discourse in points related to pedagogy, discourse parsing, MOOCs and discussion forums.
