Jin finally defended his Ph.D. thesis after many years of grueling hard work, in May.  Jin's thesis entitled "Towards Generic Domain-specific Information Retrieval" investigated how to make advances in domain-specific information retrieval without investing heavily in domain-specific knowledge engineering. Jin has been with WING since his undergraduate FYP and continues to stay on in SoC as a universally-liked instructor.  He's transitioned away from research and is now tackling the challenges of teaching software engineering and large lecture classes.  Congratulations Dr Zhao!
